Miami Cruise Parking (PortMiami)

PortMiami's cruise terminals sit on an island just east of downtown Miami. Each terminal has its own garage or lot, and your ship's terminal decides which one you use and what you pay. Most county garages charge $28 a day; the MSC, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian garages charge $35.

Veterans, RVs and special cases

Disabled veterans with a Florida DV plate park free

Vehicles with a Florida disabled veterans plate park free; the veteran must be in the vehicle. On exit, show your parking ticket, driver's license and registration and fill out a short form. Other disabled permits pay standard rates (two hours free), except vehicles with specialized equipment like ramps or hand controls.

No reserved parking at the county garages

The port's FAQ says there's no reserved parking but ample space. You pay when you exit. (Royal Caribbean's Garage A and Norwegian's Garage B take reservations through their operators.)

Getting there

Miami International Airport is 7.1 miles from PortMiami; Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood is 25.7 miles (port FAQ). (miamidade.gov)
Taxis: Norwegian estimates about $20 each way from MIA and about $50 from Fort Lauderdale airport (rates subject to change). (ncl.com)
The port runs a free shuttle between terminals only when your ship leaves from one terminal and comes back to a different one. (miamidade.gov)

Tips

Look up your terminal first. The garage (and the $28 vs $35 rate) comes with it.
Debit cards aren't accepted at the county garages. Bring a credit card or cash.
Garage D's upper floors are only 6' 8". Tall vans and roof boxes: use a first floor or Surface Lot E.
The port suggests dropping off passengers and luggage at the terminal before you park. There are no luggage lockers at the port.
